Terms and conditions of lasamericas.ca

These conditions apply to all sales made through www.lasamericas.ca or through our sales department of Las Américas Bookstore.

1. Placing orders

You can place your orders through one of these two methods:

Please include your mailing address, phone number and email address

2. Availability of titles

All orders are shipped from our bookstore in Montreal, the products shown as available on the website are available in our Montreal store. Spanish learning materials from publishers under our distribution* and literary works that appear as “ not in stock” can usually be ordered and delivered within six to eight weeks. However, as special orders depend on the publisher, Las Américas Bookstore cannot be held responsible for non-compliance with delivery dates. Special orders and literature cannot be cancelled.

When the publisher informs us that the book is no longer available, the customer will receive a notification by telephone or by email. If the customer has made a deposit for a title we cannot obtain, we will reimburse the amount.

3. Price

The prices displayed on www.lasamericas.ca are indicated in Canadian dollars before taxes and shipping. For internet orders, the price is payable in full in a single payment at the time of your order. There is no discount on internet orders. If you have an account with us that allows for special commercial conditions, please contact customer service. All orders are payable in Canadian dollars. For deliveries outside Canada, all customs fees and local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient.

4. Terms of delivery and shipping

We use the services of Canpar as our delivery company for orders shipped in Quebec and Canada. We use the Canadian postal service for international orders. Shipping costs are always included in the bill.

Shipping costs are calculated according to the weight of the package and the postal code of destination.

In Canada shipping is free for online orders over CAD $ 100 before taxes. For individual customers only. Schools and other organizations free shipping does not apply. Most orders are shipped within five working days, Monday to Friday.The delivery service is available in almost all regions of Quebec and Canada. When introducing your zip code, we will tell you immediately if we can delivery to your home.

We do not deliver to PO Boxes.

5. Availability for delivery

We do not require a signature for small packages. For larger packages our shipping vendor requires a signature.We suggest that you provide us an alternative address (work address, for example) if nobody will be home between 8:00 and 17:00 during the week to receive your order. You can enter multiple addresses in your profile and choose which you prefer when ordering.

After two delivery attempts, your package will be returned to Las Americas Bookstore and the customer must pay the shipping again.

Shipping costs cover the costs shipping and handling. The fee is calculated according to destination and weight. Individual orders cannot be combined.

6. Payment

For final clients: orders placed on the website www.lasamericas.ca must be paid by credit card. We accept VISA and MASTERCARD.

For orders by email, we also acept payments by Interac Transfer, as well as Visa and Mastercard.

For institutional clients who have a commercial agreement with Las Américas regarding payment terms. The payment is due 30 natural days from the invoice date. In order to keep our business relationship in good order please respect this deadline. Thank you.

7. Delivery

Please allow two days to process your order for products in stock at our warehouse with an additional one to three days on average for delivery in Quebec. Las Américas Bookstore is not responsible for delays in delivery if the product is out of stock or due to the carrier.

8. Returns

All our books Las Américas are new and guaranteed free of defects. If an item is defective or does not correspond your order, Las Américas Bookstore is committed to exchange or refund the customer within 10 days from the date of delivery. All returns must be accompanied by a return authorization, the delivery note or a copy of the invoice from Las Américas

For returns, the customer must write to Customer Service for a return authorization. No products will be accepted without an authorization.

If for any other reason, a customer wants to return a product purchased through www.lasamericas.ca, he/she may choose between an exchange or credit note. The exchange must occur within 10 days from the date of delivery. However, if the product has no defect, the return will be subject to an administration fee of 10% of the sales price and shipping will not be refunded. If the client qualified for free delivery, administration fees will be 20% of the sales price.

IMPORTANT:

Schools, bookstores and COOP's: There is maximum return of 10% of your order. Returns will be accepted within two months of the date on the invoice. We will issue a Credit Note to use on future purchases. No refund cheques will be issued.
This applies only to distribution materials and with a return authorization that you must obtain by speaking to our sales representative.

9. Digital products

DIGITAL MATERIALS CANNOT BE RETURNED

No exchange, credit or refund can be accepted after confirmation of a sale transaction for a digital product or activation license for a digital learning platform.

10. Billing

The total of your order will be deducted from your credit card only when the order is validated. No other charges will be applied without your permission. Taxes are calculated according to the shipping address.

11. Printed books which include a license to access digital platforms

There is no exchange or refund in any printed book containing a license to access a digital platform.
